The new season is now in full swing and it won’t be long until we begin our League fixtures. I am in the process of arranging the matches for our teams and will be in touch with Captains once this has been completed, but the first set of games will hopefully take place at the start of November.
It would be great to see some of you supporting the teams on match days. This is a great opportunity for you to see competitive volleyball in action and further develop your understanding of the game. I know those playing would appreciate the support.
Monday sessions continue to be well attended. Just a reminder to you all to ensure that you have signed up to attend the session (by 5.30pm) as this helps the coaches plan the appropriate drills according to the numbers.
Those of you who attended the AGM at the start of September will be aware that we have a numbers of Committee positions that are still vacant. The club cannot run without people organising things behind the scenes and at the moment we have a small number of people doing everything to ensure that YOU can play volleyball. If you think you can help, please get in touch.
Club Secretary – General Admin for the club (affiliation, minutes of meetings, sign up for new members). Everything is in place and has be well organised by the current Secretary, but she is no longer able to continue in the role (relocation). We can look at splitting the role of club/membership secretary if that would help.
Tournament Secretary – We have a number of tournaments that take place throughout the year that we look to enter teams into. This person would just be a distributor of information and a contact point for the club. They would not be expected to enter teams or pay entry fees.
Social Secretary – It would be great to have some social events on our calendar but again we have no one to organise this. It could be a role for multiple people if there is the interest.
X-League 2022-23
If you would like to begin to play competitive volleyball but are still unsure of how the game works this League is for you. We will arrange competitive matches with other clubs and players of a similar ability.
There will be an open training session for those people wanting to be involved in this team on Sunday 23rd October, 4-6pm. Please use the Monday sign up sheet to register your interest (Sunday’s are on a different tab at the bottom).
